Concertgebouw Brugge is an architectural gem, an acoustic marvel, a location that exudes art and creativity and it is available for your next congress or event.

Location

Bruges

Capacity

up to 1,300 pax

In 2002, Bruges was the European Capital of Culture. The newly built Concertgebouw Brugge was one of the main attractions during this year-long celebration. And rightly so – it is an extraordinary building, both aesthetically and functionally. The outside is clad in 68,000 red terracotta tiles, specifically chosen to match the colour of Bruges’ medieval rooftops. To dampen outside noises and vibrations, the entire building rests on 4,696 springs. No wonder it is listed in the authoritative book 1001 Buildings You Must See before You Die.

On the inside, great care has been given to the auditory experience. The plaster on the walls has been selected for its excellent acoustic qualities, and the seats have been designed to reflect the sound waves in the most optimal way.

Angel Room

The design of the building and its rooms also makes it an ideal venue for congresses and events. Seating 1,300 people, the main concert hall is the largest congress space in Bruges. However, because of the hall’s layout and acoustic properties, every single guest is seated close to the person speaking and can hear them as if they were standing next to them. Or how about the Kamermuziekzaal (chamber music auditorium), with its unique architecture? Of course you can use it as a plenary room (it seats 250 people), but here’s a thought: why not offer your guests a unique private concert there?

But Concertgebouw Brugge is not only a masterpiece of acoustic engineering, it is an attraction in itself. Every year, over 150,000 visitors come to enjoy the concerts, and to marvel at the architecture and the art on display. The Angel Room, for example, features a unique mural by renowned Belgian artist Luc Tuymans. This space is available for small meetings, lunches, receptions or as a break-out room.

By the way, every break-out room has natural light, and the artworks and perfectly designed layout stimulate creativity. Still not convinced? How about holding your reception on the rooftop, with unparalleled views of Bruges? Or having dinner on the stage of the concert hall? Or welcoming your guests with music – anything from a piano recital to a full orchestra? And we haven’t even got to the fact that your event will take place in Bruges, widely considered to be one of the world’s most beautiful historic cities.

Amazing experience

Of course, all the services on offer are in keeping with this magnificent building. The meeting equipment is state-of-the-art and the venue has three preferential caterers who will meet your every demand. If you select Concertgebouw Brugge for your next congress or event, you will be choosing an amazing experience in a jaw-dropping building in a magical city. We guarantee your guests will talk about it for years to come.
