Ha Concerts eyecatcher is the impressive Concert Hall. It dates from around 1900 and was recently restored and equipped with a state-of-the-art sound and lighting system. Its most notable feature is a floor that can drop 6 metres. This makes the hall suited to both standing and theatre-setting events.
Other meeting rooms include the spacious Foyer – a former banqueting hall that holds 120 people seated and 380 standing. Several well-equipped break-out rooms are available, too. And should your guests feel hungry or thirsty, the on-site brasserie provides customized catering.
More than a meeting place
Ha Concerts is not just any old meeting venue: it doubles as a lively concert hall. Where else could you go to, say, a medical congress by day and a jazz gig or DJ set by night? This gives the place a uniquely vibrant feel. The Ha team pride themselves on their personal approach. They will pamper and spoil your visitors, just like they do with the musicians who come here to perform.
In Mozart's footsteps
Ha Concerts is located on Ghent’s central Kouter Square. Over the centuries, the square has hosted parades, markets, even jousting tournaments. In the 18th century, a barracks was erected along its south side. Its splendid Rococo pavilion now serves as the main entrance to the Ha building. Next door stood a hotel, which counted Mozart and the Austrian Emperor among its guests.
In 1901, the sprawling building complex was turned into a meeting venue for the city’s commerce and industry called the Trade Fair (Handelsbeurs in Dutch, hence the name Ha Concerts). Recently, the Trade Fair was restored to its early-20th-century grandeur.
