Meeting with history

Park Abbey offers some amazing locations for your meetings, congresses and events. The refectory takes you back to the abbey’s 17th-century heyday, when the stucco ceiling was decorated with 3D scenes from the Bible — a stunning sight to this day. In the cloister, you’ll have meetings with sunlight filtering through stained-glass windows from the 1630s. Both the pink and the green salon – where the abbot once received his most distinguished guests – are available as break-out rooms, as is the prelate’s quarter. Looking for more rustic surroundings? The tithe barn dates back to 1663 and accommodates up to 150 people.

Park Abbey is still a functioning abbey, and parts of it are set up as a museum. As a venue, it welcomes meetings that focus on sustainable tradition and innovation.

A well-preserved venue

The abbey’s history goes back almost 900 years: it was founded in 1129. Most of the current buildings were erected in the 16th, 17th and 18th centuries. Since then, hardly anything has changed. That makes the abbey one of the best-preserved heritage sites in Western Europe.

Livin' it up in the city

To provide your visitors with the full abbey experience, no fewer than 13 partner organizations offer a wealth of activities. There are guided tours, beer tastings in the on-site brewery, a visit to a beekeeper, even a workshop focused on the Peace Carillon in the abbey tower.

Park Abbey is situated among 42 hectares of protected nature. Yet it’s only a short walk to the centre of Leuven — one of Europe’s oldest university towns, with 60,000 students from all over the world. That makes Leuven a lively, active place with a great café life, lots of parties, and a vibrant cultural scene. Steeped in history, surrounded by nature, yet only a stone’s throw from a buzzing city: Park Abbey really is a unique meeting venue.
